Mechanical properties test of plant fiber reinforced cementitious composites

In this paper, a new type of plant fiber-reinforced cementitious composite (PFRCC) is developed. Compared with ordinary cement-based materials, its toughness greatly improved. To investigate the tensile and bending mechanical properties PFRCC, four kinds PFRCC panels different thicknesses were developed, axial test panel designed. The results show that increase in thickness panel, bearing capacity increases gradually. peak strain about 0.022 %, which 1.47-2.2 times matrix cement mortar. average strength 2.52 MPa, slightly higher than failure load thickness, but displacement decreases 13.5 2.7 It shows addition fiber can not only mortar also improve strength. above research provides theoretical basis for application practical engineerings such as permanent formwork foundation beams light-gauge steel stud concrete external wall panels.
